Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN) is a common form of childhood trauma that can go unseen by the child who experienced it because it is more about what didn't happen than what did.
CEN is when a child's emotional needs are not sufficiently met by the primary caregivers in their life.
The good news is you can heal and you can break the cycle for your children. Just like you, your parents likely did the best they could with what they had.
