I was born and raised in Russia in 1984. I immigrated to America in hopes of a better future when I turned 19. Not really knowing how to navigate in this new world, I quickly got involved with the wrong crowd and put God on the back burner. After several failed relationships and hitting my rock bottom, I found God and rebuilt my life from scratch. Now I am 36 years old. I live in Myrtle Beach, SC with my husband, Chris, and a two-year old son, Noah. Chris and I are currently expecting a little girl. As a family, we are planning on traveling across the country in our RV and being close to our children. Professionally, I am planning on developing my own life recovery coaching program and working from the road. I recently published my first book–a Christian self-help memoir about family dysfunction and addiction.
How I healed my alcohol addiction by uncovering its roots–childhood traumaHealing traumatic memories is not one-time event. It consists of 5 distinct stages that one has to complete in order for healing to occur. My story illustrates how one can get stuck in one of the stages and be totally unaware of it until he or she hits rock bottom. In my presentation, I will describe the 5 stages of healing memories and give examples from my own experience so it can help others to be aware of them and take appropriate action.
